No more procrastination...

Hey everyone...

I'm now wondering why has it been so ridiculously tough to just go back on blogging? I could come up with zillion excuses, but no point in doing that. So just cutting to the chase: life update.

Last 6 months have been unique. I was selected to work for a multinational joint-venture called CDB Melchorita, which is responsible for building the maritime facilities and managing the quarry operations of a huge gas liquefaction project in Peru. I was hired to manage their 6-month spanish language executive program. It was a part time job with great compensation, and a nice intercultural working environment, considering that I worked with Brazilians, French, Americans and Peruvian people.... It was just like in AIESEC, except here you got paid, LOL.

I loved it! I was the whole time managing my own time and agenda. It was me setting priorities, and running the whole program as I thought more convenient. Bottom line: In 2 months, I had my students effectively speak basic spanish with communicative purposes (*no random communication), and everyone was pleased :) In 6 months, well, they all achieved an intermediate sufficient spanish level :)

Plus, as it was part time, I still got time to head back home and enjoy some home made meals, catch up on some reading, and had plenty of time to meditate and figure out some questions flying around my head.

As of the rest, I picked up where I left. I had something which still needed some closure so I'm working towards closing that chapter. New projects are coming and life at home is quite alright.

I decided to open up my own business. Legal barriers have been overcome, and so, I'm now the official manager of Talentum Centers del Peru :) Company's operations will revolve around 3 topics: Talent Training & Development, Training program outsourcing, and Educational Consultancy.

Strategic planning process is on its way, but I'll take my time before fully working on my own business, as I also want to keep on learning more from other organizations before moving completely to being a freelance. No rush here.

Love life (for those who want an update from that side) is doing alright. I found my special someone who I dated for a couple of months, but who unfortunately had to move to another country.... but hey! after seeing so much mobilization in AIESEC, you get used to saying goodbye and moving on :) We're now good friends :) So, now I'm taking it cool, and am going to the theather this week.

Bottom line, this is so far a great year! Out of 8 year goals, 4 have already been achieved, and 4 more to go ;)

I'm now usually online, so drop me a message anytime to catch up! MSN: david.rojas@aiesec.net
Stay tuned, we'll be right back ;)
