On wings of change - part 1 !

So, here's an update on my last days in Colombia....

I finally got my act together and decided to NATS, the National conference, where I would officially say goodbye to many dear friends and to the general assembly. It was very nice, I enjoyed being a party member... first time ever! Going to parties, waking up for lunch, going to a couple of sessions... then back to the Party... haha. After this year, I totally deserved it :)

Time to say goodbye...
The night I decided I would leave Bucaramanga city to go back to Bogota was the time to say goodbye... It was during the last plenary. I picked the microphone, my legs were shaking, I felt this tingling feeling all over my body, my voice was about to start shaking and I started my farewell speech as I best know so: Shouting Hey AIESEC!! :)

After my heart-felt words, the unexpected: Standing ovation! Everybody was applauding while standing up and later on, Jason started this "Ese man es un bacan" chant, and the whole assembly followed... I had this huge grin in my face, while at the same time, Ronald Silva was hugging me and saying I deserved that after such an awesome year. All I managed to do was look around, smile and then look down, as a symbol of humbleness. Man, it was just wow! Again, I was about to cry, dunno how I was able to still remain calm.

Then of course, hugging time! Everybody coming to me to say goodbye and share some final words to wish me the best in my future, saying how much they admired me and how much they loved me... never thought I could have touched oh so many lives... AIESEC is just wonderful.

That same night, I left the conference site. Grabbed a cab and was on my way to the bus station. Full of tearful eyes, and remembering an awesome year. At that time, I remembered I left my Alumnus letter. I was going to be later on presented to the assembly to be voted. It was either accepted or rejected. I would have to wait some days before the final announcement was released.

...To be continued...
